Faith Hope and Love...

Hey guys,
It's so encouraging to see how many people actually took the time to read this. I'm super excited about that, so thank you and keep it up! So For those of you who don't know this there is an event in Noblesville called Faith Hope and Love. It is much like Habitat for Humanity for the sheer fact that the whole event was made to go into a community and help clean up/ build new projects for those less fortunate in that community. I just checked my e-mail this morning and I had an e-mail from Ben Crouse who is the worship/creative arts pastor at Genesis Church where I work. Two weeks from now Genesis Church is going to be a home site for Faith Hope and Love. In this e-mail that I got from Ben it said that when they were planning for Faith Hope and Love they had discussed that a playground would be great for the Noblesville community because kids really don't have a playground to play on. Coincidence? I think not. So this whole Jungle Gym for Jesus may be getting lifted off the ground in the next weeks which is unbelievable!!! So real soon I am going to be getting in contact with Fred Knoll who is the director of Faith Hope and Love. If this goes down this soon it's going to be so amazing! I'll keep everyone posted. If your reading this... please say a prayer that Faith Hope and Love might be our way to actually build this playground.

God Moves...

So I'm sure many of you are not updated on what has been going on in my life lately, but something big happened to me last night that it would be wrong for me not to share with you. I am interning at a church in Noblesville IN. The church I am working at is called Genesis Church. This past week June 28th- July 3 we took the High Schoolers to a CIY conference on Hope's campus in Holland Michigan. To help some of you understand its much like IYC or any other big youth conference that you have ever been too. For the entire week I thought that the conference was pretty cool but the last night (thursday) Turned my world upside down... On the last night each person is given this little card sealed in a green envelope. (It looked liked a hotel key to give you a visual) So written on these cards were all of these different things that the conference had put on there to challenge students in the next year to grow spiritually and move deeper in becoming kingdom workers. I had prayed about this all day as to what mine was going to say and I just knew that God had a challenge for me. When it came time to open these our group got together and began reading these. The students began to open the ones they had received and up until that point it was really cool how God was going to challenge them in the next year. Then it came to T-Rock who was sitting in front of me. She opened hers up and it said volunteer one day a week to help volunteer vacuum the sanctuary. (T-Rock is a Awesome friend of mine who works with me and makes sure i don't do stupid things while were away..haha) So I saw that and was like... well we pretty much already do that. Then it came to me. This was the moment that I had been waiting for! Then when I opened mine it was the same as T-Rocks... Man I was so devastated. As an intern at the church I pretty much do this as my job. So I had to suck it up and held it in as everyone else opened theirs. So everyone went around and we finished. Some of the cards were pretty challenging, but it seemed that everyone was pretty happy with what God had called them to do. When we were talking about what we had got I expressed to everyone that I was really bummed that I got the vacuum card. Then one of the girls in our group told me that she had another card in her purse because she thought she lost hers. At this point I was like Thank You God for letting Emily be somewhat forgetful! So God was like Jake you want a challenge? Well I'll give you one then! So T-Rock and I in our last attempt to really be challenged opened up the card together and this is what the card said...

PLAY TIME

Find a place in your town or city where children need a place to play and build a playground.

WOW!!!! This was it. God has now really given us a challenge. So for the next year myself and T-Rock and everyone in our group, church, city and world are going to be working on making this thing happen. I know its not going to be easy but I know God would not put anything in front of us that we couldn't do. So I came up with the clever name of Jungle Gym for Jesus. This blog has been created for a number of things. It was made to brainstorm ideas for fundraising, encouragement, prayers, and anything else that will help to make this thing truly get built. I am so filled with excitement for this and CANNOT wait to see what God is going to do with all of this. So let me know what you guys think! I hope you love the idea as much as I do. God is going to MOVE...
